Every day throughout the state of Texas, hundreds of thousands of cars travel the local roadways. It is important for all drivers to pay attention to the task at hand while also obeying the rules of the road. Doing so will increase your chance of staying safe at all times.
Recently, a woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Kingwood. According to Houston police, the car accident occurred at approximately 9:20 a.m. in close proximity to the West Lake Houston Parkway and Kingwood Drive intersection.
It has been reported that the driver of a Cadillac was traveling east on Kingwood Drive at an unsafe speed when it hit the back of a Monte Carlo. The 52-year-old driver of the Monte Carlo was unable to maintain control of her vehicle, thus leaving the road and eventually striking a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene. An 8-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Monte Carlo was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital for the treatment of injuries.
Houston police responded to the accident and determined that the driver of the Cadillac was under the influence, which led to the person being taken into custody.
This car accident was caused by a person who was impaired while driving. Furthermore, the speed at which the car was moving had a lot to do with the accident, including the end result of the victim’s vehicle being thrown from the roadway.
With the driver of the Cadillac in custody following the accident, it shows that police are aware of who was at fault. The family of the victims in similar accidents may be able to pursue compensation for their loss. While it won’t undo what happened in the accident, it can make the financial aspect of the accident a bit easier to handle.
