1 injured in 2-car accident in Conroe, Texas

Regardless of where you are driving, on the highway or in the city, a car accident can happen due to the negligence of another party.

The Conroe Police Department commented on a two-car accident at the corner of Dallas and Davis Streets, noting that one woman was injured as a result. She was transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center for treatment.

A 69-year-old woman was driving her Toyota SUV west on Davis Street while a 77-year-old woman was driving a Ford van in the opposite direction. The woman in the van neglected to yield the right-of-way to the other driver as she attempted to turn on Dallas Street. As a result, she hit the back of the Toyota SUV, causing the vehicle to overturn. This led to concrete flying in the air, striking two other vehicles.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to Conroe Regional Medical Center following the accident for the treatment of minor injuries.

While police did not share any information as to how fast the vehicles were traveling at the time of the accident, this story shows that the negligence of one driver can lead to a serious incident. In this case, had the woman followed the rules of the road, the accident never would have occurred. Instead, she made a mistake on the road that caused damage while also sending another driver to the hospital.

Even when you are paying attention to the road and following the rules, avoiding a car accident is not always possible when somebody else is at fault. However, compensation may be sought in civil court for economic and non-economic damages resulting from the crash.
