Mom, 2 kids injured in collision

There are certain intersections and stretches of road that are more prone to accidents than others, and anyone who drives these roads should be cautions and aware of the hazards. A common problem on many roads is attempting to avoid the path of a tractor trailer that is attempting to negotiate a turn. Truck accidents involving a vehicle and one of these big rigs can have devastating results, as a local family recently found out.

The Oct. 2 accident occurred when a tractor trailer was attempting to negotiate a left turn. The truck make the turn wide, and in doing so, put itself in the path of a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old woman who was traveling with her two young sons, aged 4 and 3. When the truck made the turn wide, the woman attempted to avoid hitting the cab of the truck, but ended up colliding with the trucks cargo, which was a large steel beam.

The woman and her two sons were all injured in the accident. The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but her condition is unknown. The two young boys were taken to Texas Children's Hospital, where both are listed in critical condition.

The 41-year-old man who was driving the truck stated he did not know how the accident happened. Witnesses said that particular area is prone to accidents because drivers don't pay attention to other drivers.

Whether anyone is found at fault for the accident remains to be seen. However, anyone who feels they were the victim of a careless driver has the right to seek damages for vehicle repairs, medical costs and other expenses stemming from the accident. An experienced legal professional can help a person who is in this situation determine if seeking compensation is a viable option.
