2 killed, 1 injured in collision

Every day drivers are involved in accidents. For most, the incident will be an inconvenience that consists of exchanging insurance information and being without a vehicle for a few days while repairs are completed. However, when a person is killed in a car accident it is an extremely tragic and life-changing event. Our Houston readers will be sad to read about a recent accident that claimed the life of two people and left another man injured.

The accident happened in the early morning hours of Oct. 6. A pickup truck collided with a car, while the truck was turning from Almeda Genoa onto Martin Luther King Boulevard. The car went into a ditch. The truck rolled and also landed in a ditch, before bursting into flames.

Two men were trapped inside the truck and died at the scene. A third man who was driving the car the truck struck, was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in serious condition. Authorities did not state whether any citations were being given out. This could be because the accident is still under investigation, or for other reasons. If the accident is still under investigation, then a reconstruction team could be piecing together how the accident occurred and who might be at fault. On the surface it could seem that obviously the truck is at fault since it hit the car, but the circumstances as to why the two vehicles collided could prove otherwise. This is why it is so important that accidents be investigated thoroughly.

Determining who is at fault will help those who were injured and the families of the men who were killed receive some closure. It will also help to determine if any party involved can seek damages. Advice from a legal professional will help anyone struggling with these issues decide what the best course of action might be.
