As reported by news sources earlier this week, three men were severely injured in a flash fire that occurred at the Watco Mechanical Services facility in Hockley, Texas on the afternoon of Sunday, August 19, 2012. The fire broke out in a paint booth which was under construction at the time. According to the company’s website, this facility repairs railcars. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
All three injured men were life-flighted to hospitals. Unfortunately, one of the men injured in the flash fire died from his injuries. The common law wife of the deceased worker, who is expecting their child, has contacted our firm regarding this incident and we are vigorously investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the flash fire to determine the cause. Our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery go out to the other injured workers, as well as to all of the families affected by this tragedy.
