Texas Tech Coach Involved in Investment Fraud

Texas Tech head football coach, Tommy Tuberville, his partner, and the investment company the two own, TS Partners, have been named defendants in a financial fraud lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed in a federal court in Montgomery, Alabama, and alleges more than $1.7 million in damages.

While Tuberville was the head football coach at Auburn, he co-founded TS Partners, an Auburn-based investment company. According to the Huntsville Times, Tuberville and his partner are accused of mixing their clients’ assets with their own, failing to file tax returns, and falsifying client statements.

Tuberville has denied each wrongdoing the suit alleges he contributed to. Tuberville’s attorney stated that “Coach Tuberville himself invested significant funds and has never received any return from his own investment.” Although Tuberville maintains he is free from fault, seven plaintiffs have lost a total of $1.7 million.
