Traffic Accidents Cause Multiple Deaths on Houston Roadways

Three people are dead after a series of tragic traffic accidents at the end of last week, and another person was discovered who had lost their life in an apparent hit-and-run incident on Houston roadways since.

Police say the deadly spree of crashes and collisions began around 8:50 p.m. last Thursday. A 21 year-old Houston man, was killed when his Hyundai Elantra collided with a semi-tractor trailer truck. According to the police report, the man was driving his maroon Elantra at a high rate of speed and collided with the 18-wheeler as it turned left onto the highway.

A few hours later at about 1 a.m. Friday, another man died in a wreck which occurred in northwest Houston. Police reported that the man lost control of his Jeep Grand Cherokee and went off the main road onto a road that was unfinished and under construction. The vehicle was catapulted into the air and caught fire upon impact.

A third fatal traffic accident happened on the Sam Houston Parkway at about 10:40 a.m. Friday. Reports say that the man appeared to have lost control of his car, hit the curb and bounced into a cluster of trees along the roadway.

The final incident occurred Friday morning, when, around 9 a.m., a man was discovered dead lying in a southwest Houston parking lot near a service road. Police say it appeared that he may have been killed by a hit-and-run driver.

All four incidents are under investigation by local authorities and the names of the other three victims not been released.
