Reception Commemorating the Launch of HNBA Legal Education Fund A Success

Abraham Watkins was honored to host a reception commemorating the Launch of The Hispanic National Bar Association (“HNBA”) and The HNBA Legal Education Fund (“The Fund”). The Fund received its first donations that total over $10,000.00. The HNBA recently created The Fund to assist it with its educational and charitable mission, and by all indications, The Fund is off to a great start.

The Fund’s reception had nearly 70 people in attendance, including HNBA Board members, HNBA attorneys, members of the judiciary, law students, and representatives of various corporations. The event featured brief remarks by HNBA National President Román D. Hernández who stated, “The fact that The Fund was created by the HNBA just a month and half ago, yet we were able to have nearly 70 people present to learn about the work of The Fund in supporting the HNBA’s charitable and educational mission is a great thing. Receiving over $10,000.00 from donors during the reception was even better because it shows the commitment of HNBA members and partners.” Mr. [email protected], Jr., a member of The Fund’s Board of Directors, commented, “I was very pleased and honored to have been the first donor to The Fund. The Fund’s support of the HNBA’s charitable and educational mission will undoubtedly lead to other donations, which is exactly what occurred during The Fund’s initial launch reception.”

The HNBA Legal Education Fund (“The Fund”), which was incorporated in April 2010, is a not-for-profit, charitable and educational organization dedicated to promoting and facilitating educational programs for the benefit of underrepresented students and professionals by providing opportunities in the legal profession, through scholarships and financial support, to enable them to pursue legal careers. The Fund’s purpose is to provide opportunities to qualified and deserving applicants and to support the charitable and educational mission of the Hispanic National Bar Association.

The Fund is based in Washington, DC, and is the only foundation affiliated with the Hispanic National Bar Association. To learn more about The Fund, please visit it the Fund’s website.
