As I sit here in Colorado and write this blog, I realize how important it is for lawyers or anyone in a high stress job to take some time and step away. Although I’m here getting CLE, I’ve actually been able to clear my mind and body from the daily stress of the life of a trial lawyer. The fresh air, no traffic, the phone not constantly ringing, the exercise, the good food, and most importantly the quality time with my wife. While most of us think we are so important we can’t possibly take a week off work and the world not collapse around us, YOU’RE WRONG. Your office can survive. The question is can you without the break? Probably not! So step away, relax, and you can even still get some work done if you must.
