(Houston, TX) Today a lawsuit has been filed by attorney Randy Sorrels of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz against Concrete Cowboy, a local Houston bar, after two young men, Kacy Clemens and Conner Capel, were physically assaulted by bouncers and staff at a New Year's Eve party on January 1, 2019. Mr. Capel, pictured below, went to the bar with Mr. Clemens to celebrate the New Year. But before consuming or even purchasing a single drink at Concrete Cowboy, Mr. Clemens and Mr. Capel were singled out by a bouncer and told to move. After both men complied, a Concrete Cowboy bouncer tried to throw both young men out of the bar. While doing so, other bouncers and staff joined in, physically assaulting them and causing severe injuries. When the police arrived, officers arrested one of the bouncers and found no evidence that Mr. Clemens or Mr. Capel were intoxicated.

The lawsuit focuses on the negligence of Concrete Cowboy, its bouncers, and its staff on the night in question. Unfortunately, Mr. Clemens and Mr. Capel were not the only patrons to fall prey to the Concrete Cowboy bouncers during New Year's. On the same night as Mr. Clemens' and Mr. Capel's assault, another patron was assaulted and hospitalized for his injuries. The violent assault on Mr. Clemens, Mr. Capel, and other patrons represents a serious threat to our communities by the bars and bouncers that don't play by the rules. Concrete Cowboy is a bar notorious for its staff and bouncers' aggressive, rude, and violent treatment of its patrons. Some of Concrete Cowboy's Yelp reviews, seen below, show that Mr. Clemens and Mr. Capel aren't alone in their horrific experience at this establishment.

Commenting on the lawsuit, Mr. Sorrels said: "The culture of Concrete Cowboy needs to be exposed for what it is - bouncers who make it their mission to brutalize and assault patrons who they perceive to not follow their orders. The bouncers picked on the wrong group of innocent young men in this instance and we intend to bring the employees, managers and owners of Concrete Cowboy to justice."

Concrete Cowboy is located at 5317 Washington Avenue, Suite B, Houston, Texas 77007.
