Jay Jackson Named To Super Lawyers For 2016

Attorney Jay Jackson(Houston, TX) The Houston personal injury law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz is proud to announce that Jay Jackson has been named to the Texas Super Lawyers list for 2016. This marks Mr. Jackson's fifth consecutive year to be recognized on the list, which is published annually in the Texas Monthly and Texas Super Lawyers magazines.

In order to be selected to this list, an attorney must be in the top five percent of attorneys in Texas. The selection process for these lawyers is determined through peer nominations, along with review by other lawyers and research into the nominated attorney's experience and education.

Mr. Jackson joined the firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz as an Associate in 2002. He has been a practicing law in Houston since 1980, and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned both his B.A. and J.D. degrees. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a certification he has held since 2002. Additionally, he is admitted to all district courts throughout Texas, along with the Fifth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals.

Mr. Jackson focuses his practice on serious personal injury and wrongful death, including truck crashes, railroad accidents, commercial litigation, workplace injuries, and maritime claims. His dedication to the legal field and his clients has earned him many awards during his career, and his contributions to the Houston and Texas legal communities are strong. These include teaching continuing legal education seminars annually throughout the state, serving on state and local bar association committees, and authoring articles on personal injury topics. For over eight years, Mr. Jackson has authored and presented the "Supreme Court Update"-a topic which analyzes every opinion handed down by the Texas Supreme Court in the previous twelve to sixteen months-multiple times annually at CLE courses throughout the state. The Texas Bar College presented him with the Franklin Jones Best CLE Article Award for his outstanding "Supreme Court Update" article presented at the Advanced Personal Injury Law Course in 2014, and he has served as Course Director for the Advanced Personal Injury Law Course sponsored by the State Bar of Texas.
