Houston Lawyer Jay Jackson Named to Super Lawyers 2014

The Texas law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz is pleased to announce that attorney Jay Jackson has been named to Super Lawyers 2014.

Attorney Jay Jackson, of the law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz, has been named to the Texas Super Lawyers listing for 2014. The list, which appears annually in Texas Monthly magazine, is restricted to the top five percent of Texas attorneys.

Mr. Jackson, a personal injury lawyer who joined the firm in 2002, has been Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1992. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he received both his Bachelor of Arts degree and law degree. He has practiced law in Houston since 1980.

Attorney Jackson is the author of numerous legal articles and regularly speaks at Continuing Legal Education seminars for fellow attorneys. He is highly regarded by both clients and colleagues, and has received recognition and accolades, such as the Standing Ovation Award from the State Bar of Texas. This award recognizes outstanding volunteer contributions to the Texas Bar Association's continuing legal education program and reflects Mr. Jackson's commitment to professional development and legal education in Texas. Only six attorneys receive this award each year.

The reasons for the award indicate Mr. Jackson's enthusiasm for the program. He was singled out for moderating two live three-day events in Houston, recruiting many of the speakers, speaking at all sessions of the popular Advanced Personal Injury Law Course, and writing an article on the subject.

In addition to his listing in Texas Super Lawyers, he has appeared in the Houstonia Magazine's listing of Top Lawyers for 2013 in the areas of personal injury, labor and employment, business/commercial law, and admiralty and maritime law. He was first listed as a Texas Super Lawyer in 2012.

Mr. Jackson is admitted to all district courts in Texas as well as the Fifth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals. He is a member of many legal organizations, including the Houston Bar Association and the Texas Trial Lawyers' Association. He has served on many committees and subcommittees of the State Bar of Texas and currently Chairs the Discovery Subcommittee of the Court Rules Committee, sharing his extensive knowledge of recent developments and changes in the law. His dedication can also been seen in his publication of the annual Texas Supreme Court Update.

Please join the lawyers and staff of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz in congratulating Mr. Jackson on his third listing in Texas Super Lawyers.
