(Houston, Texas) March 26, 2012 - Personal injury attorney Clyde J. "Jay" Jackson III, of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto and Aziz in Houston, Texas, was honored this month by the State Bar of Texas for his exceptional contributions in 2011 to the organization's legal education efforts. Mr. Jackson was one of only six volunteer lawyers who were recognized by the TexasBarCLE, the division of the bar that provides continuing legal education.
Explaining the significance of the "Standing Ovation" award, TexasBarCLE Director Patrick said, "All of our volunteers deserve our gratitude for contributing to the continuing education of their peers. Nevertheless, some stand out each year for extraordinary dedication and commitment."
"Without volunteers," Nester continued, "CLE from the State Bar couldn't be nearly as high quality, as abundant, or as affordable. Attorney volunteers are the reason TexasBarCLE can claim the slogan, 'Education by the Bar, for the Bar.'"
Attorney Jay Jackson, a first-time course director in 2011, was singled out for exceeding the expectations of the TexasBarCLE staff by going above and beyond numerous times throughout the year. He not only moderated two live three-day events in Houston, he also recruited many of the speakers, wrote an article, and spoke at all four sessions of the popular "Advanced Personal Injury Law" course. An enthusiastic perfectionist, he consistently received excellent speaker evaluations from course attendees.
Mr. Jackson focuses his representation on personal injury law, frequently helping those injured in motor vehicle and trucking accidents, while at work, and by defective products, such as tires, firearms and dangerous medical devices. He works closely with the other injury accident lawyers at Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz to protect the rights of people catastrophically injured by the negligence of others. Founded in 1951, the firm has built a reputation as one of the most well-respected and oldest plaintiffs' personal injury law firm in Texas.
