Muhammad S. Aziz has been a Partner at Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner since 2012. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a highly recognized trial attorney who has played a significant role in obtaining settlements and verdicts exceeding over $800 million dollars. Since joining the firm in 2006, he has expanded his practice to include multi-district litigation, in which he represents clients around the nation in their claims against major corporations.
Mo currently represents over 5,000 veterans and active service members in the 3M Combat Arms Earplug Products Liability Litigation, hundreds of victims of the 2021 Astroworld festival tragedy, both 2021 & 2022 Westlake Chemical Explosions, the 2021 Lyondell Basell Chemical Plant Explosion, and several dozen first responders injured in the Arkema chemical plant explosions.
Mo is the Plaintiff Liaison Counsel in the State Court MDL, comprising over 2,000 claims in the Watson Grinding 2020 explosion litigation. He has also completed his term as court-appointed Plaintiff Liaison Counsel in the 2018 Kuraray Plant Explosion case where a confidential settlement was awarded.
Mo previously represented 23 sexual abuse survivors in their claims against Larry Nassar, USA Gymnastics, and Michigan State University. The global settlement with Michigan State University for $500 million was apportioned between 332 claimants. He represented over 1,000 plaintiffs in the One October Shooting Litigation against MGM Resorts International In Las Vegas, which had a global settlement of over $800 million dollars.
Mo served on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the In Re: Hurricane Rita Evacuation Bus Fire, where he played a lead role in the settlement of the Hurricane Rita evacuation bus fire disaster, in which 23 elderly citizens perished. Mo has also served on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the Victoria Bus Litigation, where he represented 37 claimants from a single bus rollover accident near Victoria, Texas. He previously served on the four-member Plaintiffs’ Executive Steering Committee in the 2013 West Fertilizer Plant Explosion, which resulted in 15 fatalities, several hundred injuries, and several hundred million dollars in property damage.
Mo’s success in and out of the courtroom has led him to be consistently selected for inclusion on the Texas Super Lawyers, Top 100: Houston Super Lawyers, and Top 100: Texas Super Lawyers lists. In 2022, he was the recipient of the Excellence in the Legal Profession Award of the Muslim Bar Association of Houston. In 2021, he was recognized by the Texas Lawyer Magazine and ALM Media as the “Attorney of the Year” in their Texas Legal Excellence Awards for his legal achievements.
Mo’s success is reflected in his aggressive style in preparing every case. He is known for his unflinching work ethic, regularly working late nights and weekends, to ensure that attention is paid to every detail in each case.
In 2022, he established four full-tuition scholarships for the University of Houston Law Center, his alma mater, which will benefit a law student who demonstrates financial hardship. Mo also enjoys running, boxing, and working out.
